I don’t know about you but my wardrobe is filled with the basics. I’m talking black work pants, white collared shirts, structured blazers and crew neck sweaters. Most days, I am fine putting a few of these basic pieces together and heading out the door for work. Other days I want to push my fashion sense a bit more and elevate the look but don’t know where to start.
If you also feel this way, I wanted to share with you all how to take a basic crew neck sweater and make it pop for work.
Sweater + Printed Skirt
This look was inspired by a recent post I saw on Instagram. I love the contrast between the beige/camel sweater and a bold black and white patterned skirt. While I’m styling this with a patterned skirt you could pair this sweater with black and grey plaid work pants.
Sweater + Blouse
For those of you who have been following along since this winter, you know that this is one of my favorite work pairings, a collared shirt with a sweater. Showing two varieties here, a classic white button up and a printed blouse.
Sweater + Dress
A great way to transition a fall dress into winter is by pairing it with a sweater on top. This particular dress is a shirt-dress but a dress with a full skirt in a complimentary pattern would be lovely!
Sweater + Blazer

I wear a blazer to work at least 2-3 times per week. Sometimes its because I’m meeting with clients and other times out of comfort and style. Love the idea of wearing a sweater under a blazer for a preppy and polished look.
Hope you found some inspiration for different ways to style a basic crew neck sweater for work. Let me know if there another piece in your wardrobe that you would like to see elevated for work!
