Home Tour: Kitchen

Last week I took you all on a tour of my dream closet so I thought it only made sense to take you on a tour of the next most used space in our house. The kitchen!

I am excited to share with you all an inside look at our kitchen! Thankfully our kitchen was recently updated by the previous homeowners and we really liked the style. Most people say that a kitchen sells the home, and while this kitchen is lovely, I didn’t sell the house for me. The selling point for me was our master suite area and walk in closet.

Because it was so recently updated, we didn’t have to do much to it at all besides picking out bar stools for our island area.

I’ve learned that they call this type of kitchen a “tuxedo kitchen” because of the black and white color scheme. I didn’t love the black leather granite tops at first with the white cabinets and bronzed pull drawers but the combination has really grown on me! Also…hello farmhouse sink! I’ve wanted one in my kitchen ever since I was a little girl and this sink makes me so happy. So much so that I don’t mind doing the dishes.

Coffee anyone? One thing I loved off the bat was the classic white subway tile back splash. I think it really brings the clean and classic look together.

Black Farmhouse Stools

I love this little island. It has been a great place to put out snacks and congregate when we have family over. Can’t wait to one day have little kids sitting on those stools eating breakfast before school.

Do you see the picture on the wall? This was a 2nd wedding anniversary gift from my parents. They had a dear family friend commission a watercolor painting of our first home! If you look really close you can even see Mac sitting in the front yard. This is a piece I will cherish forever.

They say the kitchen is the heart of a home and I couldn’t agree more. We have already created so many memories trying new recipes and cooking meals for our family and friends.
